...and the stealing thieves who steal
Published on November 19, 2003 By Splateaux In Blogging
So, a co-worker of mine finally got into work this morning. He was running late because his truck was broken into last night, and he was calling insurance people, cops, and window repair people.

I can empathize with what's he's going through right now, since I've had my vehicles broken into 3 times in the past.

I just wanted to share another example of why I believe people suck!

Here are the things that were stolen from my cars in the past. Feel free to share examples of what evil people have stolen from you in the past:

1. '83 Cutlass Supreme: Crossover, 2 amplifiers, speaker box w/ 15" subwoofer, $400 stereo, some CDs
2. '83 Cutlass Supreme: 1 of my 2 T-tops. Only made in '82 and '83, so it cost around $700 to get one shipped from Illinois AND it was in worse shape than my 1 original one that was left.
3. '94 Chevy Cavalier: Broken side window, $300 stereo, a LOT of CDs.

I'm luck enough to never have actually had my vehicle stolen though... might just be because of the crappy cars I drove (knock on wood)

It sounds like you live in a bad area; I'd move.

All of these happened in different cities

...I live in a different city NOW too, so even my co-workers recent attack occured in a new place.

My Chevy was broken into once. They stole library books in a bookbag. The thing is I owed the library at my school $200 for some crappy ass 70's books in order to get my report card (which I really did not want anyhow). Its my fault though. I am the ass who left an emply (although the perp did not know it was empty) Banana Republic bag next to it.

Anyway, I feel for you.

I've never had anything stolen out of a car. The only "theft" that happened to me was some jerk (whom I knew) stole my credit cards out of my purse at a party that I was at. They never used the cards, but it was a real hassle. But, that is different than having a car or house broken into and having things stolen. I work in metro Detroit and used to live in a really crappy apartment complex and have never had anything stolen from it. Where I live now, I doubt that I even need to lock my doors. They have had no homes broken into or really any crime since I've lived there for the past 4 years. I like places like that.....
