Today started with a bullet train ride to Hiroshima.  This was our second bullet train ride, and it's still pretty neat. Hiroshima though, as you can expect, was no laughing matter.  I don't have words to describe how depressing it was.  I'll just say that it was a really well done combination of museums and memorials.  They combined the science and details behind what happened with the human stories.  Near the end, there was a old man making paper cranes (Google paper cranes and Hiroshima), and after I signed his petition, he gave me a paper crane that he made and shook my hand.

After that, we went took another ferry to Miyajim Park, which was really beautiful!  They again had the protected deer there, but nobody was feeding them, so they were far less aggressive.  Itsukushima Shrine was on this island as well, and it was one of the cooler ones.  Saw some monks and got some good pictures/video.  I had a bunch of oysters for lunch; cooked in several different ways, and they were all awesome!  I also had an eel on a stick, and it was great too.  It basically tasted a lot like a scallop.

We ended the day with dinner at this place that makes a dish that's uniquely done in this city... although, I can't remember what it's called, and I'm really tired right now, so I'm not going to look it up.  It's basically friend on a big grill.. you take cabbabe, fry an egg, flip it a bunch of times and put some fancy sauce on it... and poof, you have delicious.

The last event of the evening was after we got back to hotel.  I took a random walk around the area, as I've done most evenings, and I noticed a bar called Rameros.  A small bar, but it had a really cool atmosphere.  Right when I walked in, I saw a bunch of skateboard stuff up, band stickers, and a bunch of cool 90s type things.  One of the guys started commenting on my beard, and so I went to talk with them.  A arm wrestling contest broke out.  We played some 90s gangster rap, and good times were had!

So tired now... good night
